Our Mission  We are a group of health practitioners who are working to support, network and educate ourselves as practitioners and to provide the community of Northeast Connecticut with an expanded awareness of, and access to, holistic health practices.

Holistic health care seeks optimal integration of body, mind, emotions and spirit. Caregivers treat the patient as a whole person, developing a partnership that emphasizes personal responsibility. It is a system of interaction and growth. Holistic medicine looks for root causes rather than treating symptoms, using non-invasive, natural approaches to healing.

This directory, our sixth since forming our network, includes listings of many of the members of HHPNC who practice in the area. More information on each member's practice and approach to healing can be obtained by calling them directly. Many practitioners have brochures more fully explaining their work and each welcomes your questions.

HHPNC puts on several outreach events each year.  "Healing is Happening" is a free community event and an opportunity to learn more about integrated wellness from the practitioners in our network.  They share their specialty with hands-on sessions, as well as participate in panel discussions on their modality.  For five years now we have sponsored a team of practitioners to provide massage and body work for the walkers in the area’s very popular Relay for Life fundraising event.  It is our aim to help to transform the "Quiet Corner" to the "Conscious Corner"- a place where people are facilitated in making conscious choices about their health and quality of life.

We have two healer retreats for our members in the Spring and Fall.  This is an opportunity to strengthen our sense of community and give ourselves a day to recharge our batteries with family and friends. In addition, the Holistic Practitioners meet monthly to nurture and educate each other and plan the many free events offered to the community.

If your school, organization or business is interested in hosting a speaker, practitioner or group of our members, please contact the members directly or e-mail us at hhpnc@hotmail.com

Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement of, or by, specific individuals or modalities. In the directory, we have included a modalities/index list by category of methodology. Some of these modalities give a brief description. Business names when different from individual names are also included.

We are deeply committed to ethical practices. All members have signed our ethics statement. If you would like a copy of our ethics statement, more information about our group, or to obtain more directories, please contact Susan LaRose at (860) 974-0494 or Elaine Turner at (860) 377-1869.
